Minister of Defence meets with CSTO Secretary General




 
Defence Minister Aleksandar Vulin met with Secretary General of the Collective Security Treaty Organisation (CSTO), General Yury Khachaturov. The reason for the meeting is the joint opening of the Youth Forum on the forllowing topic: "Topical Issues of Eurasian Security" which is being held on 19th and 20th October, organized by the Ministry of Defence and the CSTO in Belgrade.
 
The visit of the CSTO Secretary General represents the continuity of cooperation between Serbia and CSTO, and during the talks with the CSTO Secretary General, they exchanged views on the political and security situation in the region and the world as well as the prospects and modalities of future cooperation.
 
The minister of defence stressed that the Republic of Serbia runs an autonomous and independent foreign policy. Serbia remains committed to military neutrality which means that Serbia will not join any military alliance but that it will cooperate actively with all partners in the joint fight against contemporary security challenges.
