Preparations for the Demonstration “Freedom 2017”
Today, at Batajnica airport, Minister of Defence AleksandarVulin, in the presence of Chief of General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces General Ljubiša Dikovićand the members of collegium, observed the preparations for the demonstration “Freedom 2017” and attended the practice of different sequences for the demonstration and flight programme.
On that occasion, Minister Vulin emphasised that all the preparations for the execution of the demonstration “Freedom 2017” were going as planned.- I take this opportunity as well to invite as many of our citizens as possible to come, and lend solemnity to this celebration and to witness the progress of their country and their Armed Forces. Today, wehadapleasure of welcoming the pilots of the famous aerobatic team “Strizhi”. They are here now, and they will perform parts of their programme, some of which they will maybe perform for the first time out of the territory of the Russian Federation, so that our audience will have an opportunity to see their flying skills. As you can see, our Air Force is strong and is making progress. Youcouldnotsee, foraverylongtime,such a large number of our aircraft, and they are all operational, they are part of our resources and ready – Minister Vulin underlined.
The Director of the demonstration “Freedom 2017” Brigadier General Duško Živković, speaking about the preparations, pointed out that the participants were extremely motivated.
- Thepersonnelwill be equipped by the state-of-the-art equipment and that will be an opportunity to see the personnel from the project “1500” with modern equipment, materiel, as well as MiG-29 planes. In the dynamic part and exercise is going to be conducted involving the members of the Special Brigade, Army, and the members of AR and AD – General Žarković announced adding that a fly-past of some 30 aircraft was expected, and that on that occasion the visitors will also see tactical and technical display of the assets of arms and military equipment of the Serbian Armed Forces.
On the occasion of marking the liberation of Belgrade in the Second World War, a demonstration of a part of the operational capabilities of the Serbian Armed Forces “FREEDOM 2017” is going to be held at Batajnica airport on 20th October 2017 at 12.00. For the first time, new MiG-29 planes will be presented to the public, as well as the modern equipment for soldiers of the concept 1500. The static display will present new products of Serbian defence industry.The flight programme will include the Aviation of the Serbian Armed Forces and the finale of the programme will be marked by the performance of the Russian aerobatic team “Strizhi”. The demonstration of the capabilities of the Serbian Armed Forces is going to be attended by the highest state and military leadership headed by the President of the Republic of Serbia.
