NATO Building Integrity Conference
The delegation of the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Serbia, led by Acting Assistant Minister for Defence Policy Milan Mojsilović, took part in the regular biannual NATO Conference on Building Integrity in the Defence and Security Sector.
A conference dedicated to the tenth anniversary of the implementation of NATO Building Integrity and Reducing Corruption in Defence Programme was held in Washington from 11th to 13th September, entitled "Projecting Stability through Good Governance and. Defence Institution Building".
Among approximately 170 participants, the gathering was attended by representatives of 36 states, the United Nations, the World Bank, the European Union, the academic community, civil society organisations and the private sector. The gathering was open to NATO member states, as well as to participants in the Partnership for Peace programme, the Mediterranean Dialogue Process and the Istanbul Cooperation Initiative.
Participation in the conference was an opportunity to present once again to the wide international and professional auditorium significant experiences and achievements of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces in the field of building integrity, to gain insight into the results and methodology of other countries and international organizations that have significant experience in this field , as well as to propose possible ways of further cooperation and exchange of experiences in the forthcoming years.
In a separate panel devoted to projecting stability, human security and preventing trafficking in human beings, they presented our country's experiences from the engagement of the armed forces in providing assistance to civilian authorities in responding to the migration crisis.
