The Serbian Armed Forces is a guarantor of peace and stability
Defence Minister Aleksandar Vulin, accompanied by General Ljubiša Diković, Chief of General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Milosav Simović, Commander of the Army Command, and Colonel Slobodan Stopa, Commander of the Fourth Army Brigade, visited the members of the Fourth Army Brigade in the South Base.
They then visited the outpatient clinic, the multipurpose classroom centre, the Peacekeeping Operations and Pre-Deployment Training Centre, the Simulation Centre and, finally, the sports training ground where the players of the "Heavenly Angels" club are trained, members of which are members of the Fourth Army Brigade.On that occasion, the Minister said that the "South" base is certainly one of the most important facilities of our military infrastructure, especially when it comes to training for multinational operations.
- The Serbian Armed Forces has shown in multinational operations in peacekeeping operations to the whole world that it can compare itself with any major world army. Wherever our members went, they were regarded as good people, extraordinary commanding officers, and well trained soldiers. One of the reasons why it is so is the South Base and it is our army's orientation to always be ready for peacekeeping operations and always keep the combat readiness and training of all our members at the highest possible level, the Minister of Defence said.
He said that today's tour of the South Base is an opportunity to say that the Serbian Armed Forces fully controls our territory, preserving our everyday life and will never in any way allow any political instability to flow into our territory.- Whatever happens in our neighbourhood, whether behind the borders or the administrative line, instability will have no space on the territory of the Republic of Serbia, or in the area controlled by the Serbian Armed Forces. The Serbian Armed Forces are a guarantor of peace, guarantor of stability, not only peace and stability in the territory of Serbia, but throughout the region. Our state leadership can proudly talk about its own armed forces and can proudly say that Serbia is a factor of peace and stability, among other things, because the Serbian Armed Forces so successfully fulfils its constitutional obligations, Minister Vulin concluded.
During today's visit, Minister Vulin presented the "Heavenly Angels" football club with the donated sports equipment. The team of "Heavenly Angels" that includes members of the 4th Army Brigade cherishes memories of 11 members of the 78th Motorized Brigade, killed during NATO bombing in 1999. The minister told football players that they should keep the memories of them with their lives, decently, with dignity, in the way they lived.- That is why you are our angels, because we are thinking of 11 of our heavenly angels who gave their lives for the land we are walking on, the land we are leaving to our children. Today we are here to remember them, but also to say thank you for the fighting spirit, diligence, the life. Thank you for the life we are living not to compromise their death, the Minister of Defence said and thanked the Football Federation of Serbia and “Milan Blagojević - Lučani” defence industry factory for their donation to the "Heavenly Angels" football club.
