Establishing Cooperation with the South Korea
Minister of Defence Aleksandar Vulin talked today with Ambassador of the Republic of Korea Yoo Dae Jong about the possibilities for the establishment of bilateral military cooperation.
Vulin and Dae Jong assessed that the relations between the two countries were good and friendly and that they represented a good foundation for the establishment of military cooperation which had not been developed until now.
Minister Vulin confirmed that Serbia was ready to develop defence cooperation with all the states who express their interest on the basis of partnership and mutual respect. He informed the Ambassador of South Korea about the principles upon which international military cooperation of the Republic of Serbia is founded, stressing the declared military neutrality and strategic orientation of our country to be a member state in the European Union.
The interlocutors exchanged opinions on current security issues, so Minister Vulin highlighted that he hoped that the tensions on Korean peninsula would calm down. He reiterated that Serbia supported the actions of all sides aimed at appeasing the situation in hot spots and resolving the problem at negotiations table.
Ambassador Dae Jong congratulated Minister Vulin on his appointment as the Minister of Defence. Minister Vulin requested from Ambassador Dae Jong that South Korea voted against the admission of the so called Kosovo to UNESCO at the forthcoming General conference of the organization.
