Address of General Diković to the Members of the Delegation of US Armed Forces
Chief of General Staff of Serbian Armed Forces General Ljubiša Diković spoke today to the delegation of the US Armed Forces composed of brigadier generals and vice-generals, recently promoted to generals’ ranks which are led by retired General Philip Breedlove, former Commander of NATO Forces in Europe.
On that occasion, Genera Diković reflectedon global and regiona lsecurity situation from the viewpoint of Serbian Armed Forces. He also talked about the plans of our military in terms of building capabilities and the most significant activities of military to military cooperation with the USA.According to the words of the chief of General Staff, security situation in Balkans is stable, but there are some structures and forces that could undermine that stability. He particularly pointed out to the significance of cooperation among all the countries in the fight against common global challenges and threats, and he instanced the cooperation of our military with the National Guard of Ohio over the last decade as an excellent example.
Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Security Policy Ambassador BranimirFilipović addressed the present, dedicating his speech to security policy of our country. He stressed that these days Serbia was a key factor of stability in the region, recognised as a part of solution and not as part of a problem.
