Lecture Given by the Minister of Defence for the Students of Advanced Security and Defence Studies
Today, the Minister of Defence, Zoran Đorđević gave a lecture in the Small War Hall for the students of the 6th generation of the Advanced Security and Defence Studies.
Speaking about military education in defence system, the Minister said that it should be invested in, since the “the benefit of state will be manifold” and he underlined the future plans for the Advanced Security and Defence Studies as well.
- Each of us in our own way has given a contribution so that the Advanced Security and Defence Studies could gain a new and better quality and I am confident that the next generation will be looking forward to new challenges and stiffer competition- the Minister of Defence stated.
- Military education is designed in line with the requirements of the Ministry of Defence and Serbian Armed Forces, the programmes of study at the University of Defence have been accredited in accordance with modern warfare requirements and security challenges. After the completion of the basic level of military education, the defence system gains officers who are more ready and more capable to discharge their duties in the units, when compared to what the case was in previous years. Also, the curriculum and syllabus for the Command and Staff Course, General Staff Course and Advanced Security and Defence Studies were improved, while diplomas obtained for those levels of education have the same value just like all the other diplomas obtained in the Republic of Serbia – the Minister of Defence said.
Đorđević spoke to the students of the Advanced Security and Defence Studies about the finances in the Ministry of Defence and Serbian Armed Forces, military health, culture in defence system, peacekeeping missions, defence industry as well as about equipping and investments in the Serbian Armed Forces.
The attenders of the 6th generation concluded, at the end, that the Advanced Security and Defence Studies represent an experience that would be useful to all of them in their future work.
