Briefing for foreign military representatives at University of Defence
Foreign military representatives accredited in our country visited the University of Defence, where the Rector Major General Prof. Mladen Vuruna, PhD, informed them about development of military education system in Serbia since establishment of the first Artillery School to the University of Defence with higher education units of the Military Academy and the Faculty of Medicine of the Military Medical Academy.
The Rector explained the organization of the University of Defence to foreign military representatives, talked about study programmes at all three levels of studies and specialized training, where officers, cadets, students and civilians are educated. It was highlighted that the University of Defence like other Universities in the Republic of Serbia had met strict criteria set by the accreditation body of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development. The work of the Cadet Parliament was also discussed.
At the end of his briefing Major General Prof. Mladen Vuruna, PhD, emphasized the cooperation with Universities in Serbia and international cooperation through participation in international projects, exchange of students and professors.
General Vuruna sees the development of the University of Defence in the following period through increase of the number of self-financed and foreign students, accreditation of General Staff Course as specialist academic studies and the programme of the Advanced Security and Defence Studies as master programme, the increase in number of training simulators, mobility of teaching staff and participation in joint scientific and research projects.
