Posthumous decorations to defence system members
The Envoy of the Serbian President Milorad Simic handed over today in the General Secretariat of the President of the Republic decorations to families of the members of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces killed in the explosion in the Technical Overhaul Facility in Kragujevac and families of the members of the 204th Air Force Brigade who lost their lives in the plane crash near Sabac.
The ceremony of presenting decorations was attended by the Defence Minister Zoran Djordjevic and the Serbian Armed Forces Chief of General Staff General Ljubisa Dikovic.The Envoy of the Serbian President expressed gratitude for “the immense contribution given by all of them in professional performance of military service and set tasks and obligations”.
“Dear family members of our perished members of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces, I am convinced that you will proudly keep these decorations and that your children will follow the honourable way of their fathers. We will remember all of them with pride and we cannot let them be forgotten. They showed and proved that they were worthy of their profession in each situation and circumstances under which, unfortunately, they lost their lives. Thank them for being and remaining the Serbian heroes”, Mr. Simic said.
Lieutenant Colonel Miroslav Perisic and Nenad Culibrk, Captain Dejan Pandurovic and Darko Kostic and civilians Dejan Kovacevic and Zeljko Nikolic were posthumously decorated with the golden Medals of Milos Obilic for the expressed outstanding bravery and the act of great personal courage by the decree of the President of the Republic of Serbia.Lieutenant Colonel Perisic, Captain Kostic and civilians Kovacevic and Nikolic died in the explosion, which took place on the 28th February during firefighting in the Technical Overhaul Facility in Kragujevac.
Pilots Lieutenant Colonel Nenad Culibrk from the Air Force and Air Defence Command and Captain Dejan Pandurovic from the 252nd Training Squadron of the 204th Air Force Brigade tragically lost their lives on the 7th April in the crash of the trainer-fighter “Super Galeb G-4” around the village of Slatina, near Sabac during a routine training flight.By the decree of the President of the Republic the golden Medals of Milos Obilic for the expressed outstanding bravery and the act of great personal courage were given to the members of the Ministry of Interior – the Commander of the Fire and Rescue Brigade Nenad Milosevic, the officer commanding the Fire and Rescue Section Predrag Marinkovic, fireman-lifeguard Ivan Simovic and the leaders of fire and rescue groups Nebojsa Petkovic, Marko Branic and Nenad Milikic.
