Marking Remembrance Day for the victims of the Holocaust
The Remembrance Day for the victims of the Holocaust, genocide and other victims of fascism in the Second World War has been marked by laying wreaths and paying tribute at the Monument to victims in the complex of the former Nazi concentration camp the Old Fairground in New Belgrade.
The state ceremony was led by the Minister for Labour, Employment, Veterans and Social Affairs Aleksandar Vulin, who said that only 72 years have passed since a dash of the camp prisoners eager for freedom, and we have already forgotten who the victim and executioner were, letting the people to mix up, starting to find the excuse by saying that all of them were the victims of the war. Thus, there should be no silence on the evil in order not to have it again, Minister Vulin concluded.
Marking the Remembrance Day for the victims of the Holocaust, genocide and other victims of fascism in the Second World War was attended by the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces delegation to commemorate 22nd April 1945 and the breakthrough of the group of prisoners in Jasenovac and is dedicated to the Serbs, Jews, Roma killed in the mass and inhuman crime during the Second World War.
