Natasa Culafic from Guard won 3rd place at 30th Belgrade Marathon
More than 250 members of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces, representatives of all organizational units including 151 of them from the Military Academy, have participated today in the 30th Belgrade Marathon.
The best result among them has been achieved by Natasa Culafic, the member of the Guard, who won the 3rd place by running 42km and 195m for a minute and a few seconds over 3 hours. In women’s competition, our experienced athlete Olivera Jeftic won with the time 2:37:59 whereas the national competitor Teodora Simovic won the second place.
In the ideal weather for running, all cadets of the Military Academy have managed to finish the races in their competitions, 6 of them in “the great race”.
The winner of the 30th Belgrade Marathon in men’s competition is Stephen Katam from Kenya, who also became the record holder of the new track in the Serbian capital city with the time 2:21:11 whereas the second place was won by our athlete Darko Zivanovic (2:29:40) and the third place by Kennedy Kipruto Maiyo from Kenya (2:33:40).
The winner among Half Marathon runners is Dario Ivanovski from Macedonia with the time 1:10:00, the second one is Velimir Bajovic, and the third one Marko Rankovic whereas in women’s competition the first one was Montenegrin athlete Sladjana Perunovic, the second one was Natalia Gracz from Poland, and the third one was Aleksandra Marinkov.
The race promoters this year, in which many celebrities participated, were the legends of the world athletics Rosa Mota, Galina Chistyakova, Bob Beamon, Lasse Virén, Mike Powell, Kevin Jang and Javier Sotomayor.
