Concert of Binicki Ensemble in Kolarac
Last night in the Great Hall of Kolarac Foundation Stanislav Binicki Artistic Ensemble of the Ministry of Defence held the concert of the most beautiful arias and melodies, which have enthralled lovers of music for decades and centuries.
Performing the works from Traumerei of Robert Schumann via arias from Carmen to modern music, Binicki presented itself in front of the full hall of Kolarac. The audience enjoyed “Back to Sorento”, “Adagio” by Tomaso Albinoni, the Concierto de Aranjuez, “Granada”, the famous Neapolitan song “O sole mio”, music from the film “A day in the life”, “Zorba the Greek”. There was also “Non, je ne regrette rien”, the famous song of French “sparrow” Edith Piaf composed by Charles Dumont, “Kalinka”, “Sing, sing, sing” by Benny Goodman.
Milica Popovic, a mezzo-soprano, the student of our prima donna Sanja Kerkez and Slavko Nikolic, a tenor, who has marked 40 years of artistic career by this concert, shared the stage together with Binicki. Pavle Medakovic conducted Binicki, and Aleksandra Paladin acted as a compere.Although the concert was officially ended by the famous aria “Con Te Partiro” by Francisco Sortino, there were two encores with opera arias and film music.
