The Ministry of Defence always open for social dialogue
Within the agreed deadline of two weeks, the Ministry of Defence has tried to schedule a meeting with the representatives of the Military Union of Serbia in order to solve challenges together as agreed at the previous meeting held on 18th March 2017.
The representatives of the Military Union of Serbia have requested the postponement of the meeting for the following week due to a visit of the president of the mentioned Union to Moscow.
In the meantime, besides dealing with important issues for the members of the Ministry of Defence and Serbian Armed Forces, the Government of the Republic of Serbia has adopted the Programme of long-term housing loans for professional military personnel on the basis of which more than 300 members of the Ministry of Defence and Serbian Armed Forces have already started solving their housing issue using subsidized loans in the past few days.
Despite several appeals of the Defence Minister, which were repeated at the previous meeting, that going out to the streets is not a solution to improve the material status of members of the Ministry of Defence and Serbian Armed Forces and that the Ministry of Defence is always open for constructive dialogue in the sphere of union activities, the Military Union has again called upon its members to go out to the streets.
