All SAF members enabled to vote – the Defence Minister issued an order on 9th March 2017
In cooperation with the Republic Electoral Commission, the Ministry of Defence and Serbian Armed Forces have enabled all their members to exercise their active right to vote on the Elections for the President of the Republic of Serbia on 2nd April 2017.
Furthermore, the Defence Minister Zoran Djordjevic issued the order No. 2252-7 on 9th March 2017 to enable all professional members of the Serbian Armed Forces on duties out of their place of residence, persons attending education and professional development in military education establishments in the country and abroad, as well as the adult students of the Military High School, the attenders of the Reserve Officers Course and soldiers on voluntary military service to come out to polling locations in places where they are registered in the electoral roll.
Moreover, persons engaged in multinational operations and attending education abroad are timely informed about possibilities to exercise their right to vote through embassies and consulates of the Republic of Serbia abroad.
The greatest number of members of the Ministry of Defence and Serbian Armed Forces will exercise their right to vote at place of residence, at polling location where they are registered in the electoral roll.
Those ones who will be engaged in commands, units or institutions on the voting day will be enabled to come out to polling location and vote.
Soldiers on voluntary military service and persons attending education in the country will get weekend leave in order to go to the places where they are registered in the electoral roll and vote.
The members who are officially prevented from coming out to polling locations where they are registered in the electoral roll on the voting day will be enabled to vote in the closest place in which they perform tasks.
Thus, in one of the aforementioned means, all members of the Ministry of Defence and Serbian Armed Forces, according to previous practice, will be able to exercise their active right to vote on the Elections for the President of the Republic of Serbia on 2nd April 2017.
