Minister Đorđević with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Eritrea
Minister of Defence Zoran Đorđević talked with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Eritrea, Osman Mohammed Saleh, who is paying official visit to the Republic of Serbia. On that occasion he thanked for the principled support of the State of Eritrea to legitimate efforts of Serbia to maintainan its sovereignty and territorial integrity.
The interlocutors exchanged the opinions on politico-security situation in the region and in the world, and Minister Saleh was familiarised with the current position and views of the official Belgrade on the issues significant for Serbia, the EU accession proces, engagement of the members of the MoD and SAF in multinational operations, as well as on the activities and results achieved by Joint Military and Police Forces on prevention of crossings and smuggling of ilegal migrants in the territory of Serbia.
Having in mind that the Republic of Serbia is a regional leader in the field of military education, and that it possesses a vast experience and considerable capacities in the field of military medicine, it was stated that those were exactly the areas in which the bilateral military cooperation of the two countries could be developed.
Furtermore, Minister Đorđević underlined the necessity of harmonising and signing an agreement on cooperation in the field of defence, as a formal and legal framework for the future bilateral military cooperation.
