Dynamic Activities of Serbian Representatives at the Exhibition in Abu Dhabi
The representatives of the Serbian defence industry and the Ministry of Defence continued their activities today as well, at the 13th International Exhibition of Arms and Military Equipment IDEX 2017 in the United Arab Emirates capital, Abu Dhabi. Currently, the planned visits are being conducted to the stands of the world renowned manufacturers and distributors of the products of defence industries significant for the Serbian Armed Forces and development of scientific potential of our country, and the delegations will also attend many receptions hosted by official delegations of the participating states.
The second day of the Exhibition was marked by a dynamics of a large number of meetings with various delegations, so the Serbian stand received, among others, the delegation of the Armed Forces of Egypt headed by Egyptian Air Defence Commander, Ali Fahmi Mohammed Ali. The topic of the discussion was expanding bilateral cooperation and the exchange of information on the modernisation of Air Defence systems which make the armament of both countries. It was agreed that the experts should consider the initiated topics in our scientific and developmental institutions, and they defined the manner of further communication via competent ministries and the Office of Egyptian Defence Attaché.
A guest at the Serbian defence industry stand was a multi-member delegation from Kuwait headed by the Chief of General Staff of Kuwait, Lieutenant General Mohammed Khaled Al-Khudair. They considered an assortment of our products with particular interest in lethal ordnance for anti-armoured actions and in tank engine with improved characteristic.
On the side-lines of the Exhibition, a meeting was held with the Land Forces Commander of the Russian Federation, Lieutenant General Oleg Salyukov, at which the possible cooperation was considered in the field of military technical potentials of the two countries, and that was also an opportunity to comment on the experiences regarding the organisation and results of the previous tank biathlon where the members of the Serbian Armed Forces had demonstrated excellent capabilities.
More than 1200 companies from 57 countries participate in this International Exhibition of Arms and Military Equipment IDEX 2017, which represents an impressive number of bidders, but according to our representatives the organisation is such that it provides excellent conditions for all the countries to present their potential. The greatest world manufacturers are grouped by national pavilions the largest one being the German pavilion spreading over 4500 square metres, followed by Turkish, Chinese, French, US and Russian pavilion. Jugoimport is presented at a stand covering the area of 370 square metres with a two level stand.
