Enhancement of cooperation with Defence Attachés accredited in the Republic of Serbia
In the framework of regular quarterly information, a meeting with the doyen of the military diplomatic corps, Colonel Jean-Marie Ferber, and President of the Belgrade Attaché Association, Colonel Thomas Ahammer, has been held at the Department for International Military Cooperation, today.
Head of the Department for International Military Cooperation, Navy Captain Milan Konjikovac, stressed that timely communication and a constructive dialogue contributed to raising the level of understanding and objective information about the defence system of the Republic of Serbia, as well as to the overall strengthening of cooperation in the field of defence.
Joint involvement resulted in the accomplishment of all the planned, but also a large number of extra-planned activities with foreign military representatives. Captain Konjikovac briefed about the activities of international military cooperation executed in the period since the previous meeting. Special emphasis was on the activities of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces in support of achieving the foreign policy priorities of the Republic of Serbia – in the framework of the EU accession process, regional cooperation, and engagement in multinational operations and cooperation in the domain of the Partnership for Peace Programme.
The top people of the military-diplomatic corps and Belgrade Attaché Association emphasized the importance of timely and quality cooperation, which is in the common interest.
At the end of the meeting they agreed on the schedule of implementation of activities in 2017.
