Chief of General Staff meets KFOR Commander
Serbian Armed Forces Chief of General Staff General Ljubisa Dikovic has met today KFOR Commander Major General Giovanni Fungo in South Base.
During the meeting, General Dikovic and Major General Fungo talked about the current political and security situation at the territory of Kosovo and Metohija and in the Ground Safety Zone, as well as the cooperation of the Serbian Armed Forces and KFOR so far.
General Dikovic assessed that the level of collaboration reached with KFOR was characterized by high degree of mutual trust and professionalism and repeated that the Serbian Armed Forces see KFOR as the key factor for preserving security in Kosovo and Metohija in accordance with the Resolution 1244 of the UN Security Council and the Military Technical Agreement.
Expressing concern for the recent events related to the train on route Belgrade-Kosovska Mitrovica, Chief of General Staff emphasized that the joint task of the Serbian Armed Forces and KFOR is preservation of security in areas of responsibility on both sides of the administrative line, and KFOR as the international actor has great responsibility for security all people in this province, especially non-Albanian population.
Major General Fungo confirmed that KFOR would undertake all measures to provide peace and protection of the entire population at the territory of Kosovo and Metohija, especially the most threatened ones.
