Improving cooperation with Botswana
State Secretary Nenad Neric has met today General Secretary at the Ministry of Defence, Justice and Security of the Republic of Botswana Segakweng Naniso Tokana Tsiane, who is currently on a visit to the Republic of Serbia.
At the meeting it was concluded that traditionally good bilateral relations, as well as the principal support of Botswana to the efforts of Serbia to preserve sovereignty and territorial integrity at Kosovo and Metohija represent firm basis for establishing various modes of collaboration between two ministries.
The attitudes to current security situation in the region and world have been exchanged with a special emphasis on migrant crisis and more and more frequent problem of terrorism.
State Secretary Neric ascertained that signing the Agreement on cooperation in the field of defence would be a legal framework for establishing further cooperation in all spheres of mutual interest, which is going to be the topic of further bilateral talks.
Having in mind that the Republic of Serbia has respectable military research, developmental, experimental, production and overhaul capacities at its disposal, we would like to present to partner countries in the world the potential for cooperation in the field of defence technology and also work at common projects.
General Secretary Tsiane has shown a special interest in the development of military-medical cooperation, especially in the field of education of medical personnel for the Armed Forces of Botswana, as well as establishing various modes of military-economic cooperation.
The abovementioned visit has been organized on the initiative of the Institute “VLATACOM” in Belgrade, the company which has done business for a long time at the territory of the Republic of Botswana.
