A military pyrotechnician in primary school
Members of the Central Logistics Base implemented a many-day project of civil-military cooperation entitled "A military pyrotechnician in primary school".
The project was implemented through lectures with the aim of pointing out the dangers of the use of pyrotechnic devices – firecrackers, fireworks, torches and others, increasingly used over the period of celebrating the New Year and Christmas holidays.
The two-week project included several primary schools in Nis, Prokuplje, Kursumlija, Pirot, Čačak, Smederevo, Smederevska Palanka, Kragujevac and Belgrade municipalities of Rakovica and Sopot and on that occasion about 2500 pupils were trained.
The lecturers pointed out that smoke, light, sound and inflammatory effects that pyrotechnic articles produce are the main reason for their use, but that children are not aware of the dangers that lurk on this occasion. They also appealed for avoiding the use of pyrotechnics, bearing in mind the consequences that firecrackers, fireworks, torches and similar means can cause to property as well as to life and health of people.
