The members of Serbian Ministry of Interior in coordination with the members of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces have resolved the theft of weapons from the military warehouse in Ostruznica in Belgrade and arrested 5 people suspected of having committed this criminal act.
On suspicion of having committed the criminal act of the theft of weapons and a part of materiel, prohibited production and placement of weapons and dangerous materials on the market B.S. (1990), М.L. (1992), М.М. (1994), S.N. (1994) and S.V. (1976) have been arrested.
During the search of the apartment and other premises on fourteen locations in Belgrade, Surcin, Becmen and Pecinci conducted according to the order of the Higher Public Prosecutor’s Office in Belgrade, two automatic M70 rifles of 7.62 calibre, 840 bullets of different calibre and a large quantity of the military equipment stolen from the military warehouse in Ostruznica were found.
The suspects have been taken into custody up to 48 hours and after that they will be brought to the Higher Public Prosecutor’s Office in Belgrade with criminal charges.
The disappearance of the weapons and ammunition from the facility “Ostruznica” was reported on 16th November 2016. Due to seriousness of the case the joint forces and mixed teams of Serbian Military Police and the Ministry of Interior have been formed. The Military Security Agency of Serbian Ministry of Defence rendered assistance to the Military Police and the Ministry of Interior in conducting operational-criminal and other measures and activities.
