Defence Minister extends greetings on the occasion of the Day of the Air Force and Air Defence
I extend to all members of the Air Force and Air Defence my best wishes as they celebrate 24th December – the Day of the branch.
The Day of the Air Force and Air Defence was determined to commemorate 1912, when, based on the decision of the Serbian Military Ministry and General Staff, Field Marshal Radomir Putnik issued a decision on the formation of the Air Force Command based in Nis. The members of your branch have continued more than a century long tradition with pride.
In the past period, using the rich experience and expertise, you have invested maximum efforts in performing assigned tasks. The units of the Air Force and Air Defence have achieved visible results in specialist training and education and have given substantial contribution to the development of total operational capabilities of the Serbian Armed Forces. The forthcoming obligations and planned tasks pose new and complex requests to the members of the Air Force and Air Defence. The greatest value of this branch of the Serbian Armed Forces is in people and their knowledge.
In the belief that the efforts invested in the modernization of the Serbian military aviation, in which you have the full support of the Ministry of Defence and the state, will pay off and contribute to more successful and better execution of set tasks, I congratulate you on your holiday.
