Minister of Defence meets Ambassador of the UAE
Defence Minister Zoran Djordjevic met today with the Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates in Belgrade, Juma Rashed Al Dhaheri.
During the talks, it was confirmed that good political relations between the two countries are the basis for the establishment of better defence cooperation, and it is certainly supported by the meetings at the highest level.
On this occasion, the Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates handed Minister Djordjevic the invitation letter of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid al Maktoum, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Minister of Defence, to attend the international exhibition and conference dedicated to the latest military technologies "IDEX 2017". The conference will be held in Abu Dhabi from 19 to 23 February 2017 and it will be an opportunity to increase the volume of military economic and scientific-technical cooperation.
Minister Djordjevic has also stressed the interest in developing military-to-military cooperation. He said that the current visit of the five-member delegation of the UAE Army for the purpose of the familiarisation with the capacities of the Serbian Armed Forces for training in mountain conditions, at the Kopaonik training ground, from 14 to 16 December 2016, may be a kind of driving force in this direction.
