Defence Minister visits "Yumco"
Defence Minister Zoran Djordjevic has visited today HKPK "Yumco" AD Vranje company where he made a tour of several plants of that factory and talked with the leadership of the famous Vranje textile industry. Acting Director General of "Yumco", Branislav Trajkovic informed the Minister about the production programme of the factory and the degree of realization of the agreements which that company has with the Serbian Armed Forces. They also spoke about the realization of future tasks related to the development of quartermaster equipment.-The Ministry of Defence has big plans for this factory. In the forthcoming period, we are to face the restructuring and the establishment of a new company that will be named "Yumko – namenska" (Yumko – special purpose industry). The Ministry of Defence is to make a plan for the restructuring – the Minister of Defence said, pointing out that it will be seen how and in what way "Yumco" will manufacture uniforms not only for the Ministry of Defence but also for the Ministry of the Interior, and to improve their exports.
-We will have a new company that will operate positively and give impetus to the economy here in Vranje – Djordjevic said.
In the period from 2010 to 2016, the Ministry of Defence concluded with the "Yumco" company several contracts worth more than RSD 2.1 billion for the purchase of around 50.200 sets of M-10 camouflage uniforms and more than 32,000 pieces of individual parts of equipment of the mentioned set – military camouflage overalls, summer military camouflage pants and other. In the forthcoming year, it has been planned to purchase the sets of M-10 camouflage military uniforms, M-12 summer military camouflage pants and production of zero series of modular military backpacks and parts of summer field uniform.The Company produces and delivers special clothing for the foreign police units and armies. The best results were achieved in exports to German, Austrian and Dutch markets, for which needs "Yumco" produced and delivered various types of military uniforms in the previous period.
The meeting in "Yumco" was attended by Nenad Miloradović, Assistant Minister for Material Resources, Dragan Stevanovic, State Secretary in the Ministry of Economy, Srećko Pejković, Head of Pčinj District, Slobodan Milenković, Mayor of Vranje, representatives of the General Logistics Department and the Military Technical Institute.
