Anniversary of the liberation of Kraljevo
The Delegation of the Second Army Brigade, headed by Lieutenant Colonel Vladan Petronijevic, laid a wreath at the Monument to the Liberators of Kraljevo in the park ''Pljakin šanac” (Pljaka’s moat), in memory of the 29th November 1944, when the city was liberated in World War II.
Wreaths were laid also by the delegations of the city of Kraljevo, Raska administrative district, police, SUBNOR veterans’ association and other organizations and associations.
In the battles for the liberation of Kraljevo, the Second Proletarian Division, 25th Serbian Proletarian Division, and parts of 223. shooting division of the Russian Red Army took part. The final battles lasted 45 days, both sides suffered heavy losses in manpower and, in the night between 28th and 29th November 1944, Kraljevo was finally released.
