General Dikovic in Brussels
Serbian Armed Forces Chief of General Staff General Ljubiša Diković and his Greek counterpart Admiral Evangelos Apostolakis signed today in Brussels the Note on the Accession of the Republic of Serbia to the Technical Agreement about the establishment of HELBROC EU Battlegroup.
The Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Serbia expressed readiness to participate in HELBROC Battlegroup with one Military Police platoon, a civil-military cooperation team and up to five staff officers in the Battlegroup Force Command.
The Note will come into effect when signed by the representatives of the participating countries in this battlegroup led by Greece including the members of the Armed Forces of Bulgaria, Cyprus, Romania and Ukraine.
General Diković stressed that signing the Note enabled Serbian Armed Forces to take an active part in this battlegroup, which represents additional confirmation of a commitment of the Republic of Serbia to the EU Common Security and Defence Policy.
Serbian Armed Forces Chief of General Staff took part today in Brussels in a panel “Training and advisory missions” held within the framework of meeting of EU Military Committee.
Chiefs of General Staffs of Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, Mali, Myanmar and Montenegro, as well as the commander of US Armed Forces African Command participated in the panel.
After the panel General Diković talked with Chairman of the NATO Military Committee General Petr Pavel about the security situation in the Western Balkans, the commander-in-chief of the Myanmar Armed Forces Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and Major General Robert Magowan, the commander of Operation Atalanta in which members of Serbian Armed Forces participate.
