Joint concert of Serbian and Russian military musicians



Tonight, Slavic Brotherhood 2016 joint exercise of the members of the Serbian Armed Forces and the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus has transferred from the military training grounds and airports to the Military Club in Nis. On this occasion, Stanislav Binicki Artistic Ensemble of the Ministry of Defence and the Ensemble of the Airborne Troops of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation have 'operated' separately and jointly.
 
The joint concert was attended by the Army Commander Lieutenant General Milosav Simovic, Major General Oleg Polguyev, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Airborne Troops of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, Colonel of the Belarusian Army Oleg Peichevsky, Mayor of Nis Darko Bulatovic, people from cultural and public life of Nis, members of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces and the members of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation and Belarus.
 
The visiting ensemble performed a combination of Russian and Belarusian folk and military songs with the support of soloists and a dance group. In the second part of the programme, "Binicki" presented itself as well as the soloist Danka Stojiljkovic with several Serbian traditional songs. At the end of the concert, the orchestras performed together several songs including the famous "Katyusha".
 
- In addition to military cooperation we managed to accomplish also the artistic and cultural cooperation as music and notes have no limits. "Binički" Ensemble has developed cooperation with different ensembles for years, not only the one of the Russian Federation, but also with the American orchestra stationed in Europe, the Greek and the Swiss orchestra. We recently had a visit of Orchestra of the Army of the Republic of Macedonia – Head of the "Stanislav Binicki" Ensemble, Commander Svetozar Vasileski, said.
 
Artistic director of the visiting orchestra Vyacheslav Omeljanov says that only a part of the ensemble came to Serbia, practically a concert brigade. - In one year, the ensemble performs between 100 and 120 concerts, and we have a lot of Serbian folk songs in the programme, this experienced artist says.
