Minister of Defence meets representatives of trade union organizations
Defence Minister Zoran Djordjevic has met today with representatives of representative trade unions of the Serbian defence industries.
During the meeting, the activities of the Ministry of Defence were presented regarding the preparation of the new draft law on production and trade in arms and military equipment, employment and implementation of the programme for financial consolidation in companies of the Serbian Defence Industry, and regarding the resolving of property-related legal problems in some companies of that industry.
The Union representatives were also presented information on key performance indicators of companies of the Serbian Defence Industry, with mutual positive assessment that the trend of production and marketing of products is constantly increasing with the expectation that this continues in the forthcoming years.
The meeting was an opportunity for Minister Djordjevic to get acquainted with the current problems and the work of trade union organizations in companies of the Serbian Defence Industry, and through a constructive dialogue it was concluded that it is necessary to continue with active exchange of information in the forthcoming period, and to continue to work actively on the provision of quality living and working conditions of employees in the defence industry, with emphasis on the implementation and continuous improvement of safety measures.
Trade Union representatives expressed their interest that the Ministry of Defence continues to carry out activities within its mandate, which will lead to further improvement and development of the domestic defence industry and welcomed the holding of this type of meeting, agreeing that it is good practice to annually get informed about the latest developments in the defence industry directly from the Ministry of Defence.
