Joint session of the Collegium of Minister of Defence and Chief of General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces
Defence Minister Zoran Djordjevic has run today a joint session of the collegium of the Minister of Defence and the Chief of General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces at Knjaz Mihailo barracks in Nis.
The session also analysed the current security and political situation in the country and abroad, and they talked about the new concept of six-month voluntary military service under arms. They discussed the preparations for the participation of the Serbian Armed Forces in celebration of the Day of Liberation of Novi Sad, where the public will be presented parade of military units and static and dynamic display of part of capabilities of the Serbian Armed Forces.
- Equipping of units of the Serbian Armed Forces remains the priority of the defence system in the forthcoming period. In this sense, I took this opportunity to visit as many units of the Serbian Armed Forces deployed here in Nis as possible, to familiarise with the situation and the needs for improvement of the work efficiency, Minister Djordjevic said.
Djordjevic added that he was satisfied with the fulfilment of the set goals this year but that we should always be aware of mistakes, admit them, learn from them and improve everything that can be improved in the defence system.
Defence Minister Zoran Djordjevic visited today part of the units of the Mixed Artillery Brigade of the Army and the 250th Air Defence Missile Brigade of the Air Force and Air Defence, deployed in the Mija Stanimirovic barracks. During his visit, Minister Djordjevic visited the Company for training of dog handlers, breeding and training of dogs and Medical Service Training Company of the Training Command in the Knjaz Mihailo barracks and Sivara military complex.
