General Dikovic visits participants in BARS 2016
Serbian Armed Forces Chief of General Staff, General Ljubisa Dikovic, accompanied by Commander of Air Force and Air Defence, Major General Ranko Zivak, attended final preparations for flying before the start of today's flight activities within the flight tactical exercise BARS 2016 at the Batajnica airport.Addressing the members of the AF&AD and the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation performing the flight assignments together during the exercise in mixed crews, General Dikovic pointed out that this was the final phase of BARS 2016 which is a unique and specific exercise of aeronautical elements of the two countries.
- The specificity comes from the very title of "brotherhood" that clearly determines the relations between the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation and the Serbian Armed Forces and our consistency in the implementation of strategic commitment to cooperate with friends, to cherish this friendship, to develop it and to strengthen the ability of our armed forces – General Dikovic stressed.The Chief of General Staff pointed out that this exercise will be carried out next year in the Russian Federation, which will be good for our pilots when it comes to experience, and he expressed the hope that our pilots will return from that exercise with MiG-29 airplanes, which will remain in Serbia.
The representative of the Command of the Air Force of the Russian Federation, Colonel Konstantin Yurevich Surikov, on this occasion, expressed his gratitude for the cordial reception of our airmen, as well as the positive impressions because of good organization of the exercise.
