Symposium on Operational Research SYMOPIS 2016 starts
The Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces are organizers of the 43rd Symposium on Operational Research SYM-OP-IS 2016, which is held on Tara, from 20 to 23 September, and which this year brought together authors from Serbia, the Russian Federation, Macedonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Slovenia, Slovakia and Romania.
The Scientific Conference was opened by the Chairman of the SYM-OP-IS 2016 Organizing Committee, Brigadier General Slobodan Joksimovic, MSc, and the plenary lecture on invitation was delivered by a representative from the Russian Federation, academician Vladimir Kozin from the Russian Institute for Strategic Studies.
Participants in the Symposium were welcomed by Assistant Minister of Science, Nikola Tanic, PhD, from the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development.
The aim of the scientific gathering is the improvement and development of operational research through the exchange of knowledge and experience of the participants. In the symposium, 135 scientific papers within 26 sections will be presented. As in previous years, the authors of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces, with 27 accepted papers, will provide a significant contribution to the promotion of the scientific gathering.
