Minister of Defence extends greetings on Telecommunications Service Day and Signal Brigade Day

Greetings for the Telecommunications Service Day

I extend to all members of the Telecommunications Service my best wishes as they celebrate 20th September – the Day of the Service.

A century ago, at the proposal of the Minister of War, Crown Prince Aleksandar Karadjordjevic approved the Decree on Military Telegraph, pursuant to which the signals units separated from the Engineering branch, grew into the units at the level of battalion – regiment and signals became an independent branch of the Armed Forces.

Modernising the types and specialties of the telecommunications services, introducing new equipment and following the software development, in the previous period, you have achieved notable and significant results in strengthening the services of telecommunications and significantly contributed to the improvement of operational and functional capabilities of the Serbian Armed Forces and the Ministry of Defence. By your everyday work on complex telecommunications systems you are contributing to the defence system to be able to respond to the challenges for the security of citizens at all times and to ensure timely and uninterrupted flow of information in the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces.

Believing that in the forthcoming period you will continue to work on upgrading and developing the telecommunications system, setting the high standards, I congratulate you on your jubilee.
