Two centuries since the Battle of Dublje marked
With state and military honours and laying of wreaths in the Church of the Holy Resurrection of the Lord in Dublje, the central celebration of the marking of 200 years since the Battle of Dublje was held. On behalf of the Serbian Government, wreath was laid by State Secretary at the Ministry of Defence Zoran Djordjevic, while the holy litany was held by Episcope of Sabac Lavrentije with priests.
The Battle of Dublje was a large battle between Serbian rebels and the Ottoman Army, which took place in Dublje village in Macva on 26 July, 1815. Serbian dukes Milic Drincic and Sima Nenadovic were killed in the battle, but the Ottomans suffered great losses as well. Prince Milos’s rebels stopped the Ottoman troops from Bosnia and captured Ibrahim Pasa Niksicki. With this battle ended the armed part of the Second Serbian Uprising.
