Modern Defence Industry a Guarantee of the Military Neutrality of Serbia
Serbia is capable of autonomously armouring itself and to master the state-of-art world technologies, which is why our military neutrality policy is sustainable - said Minister of Defence Aleksandar Vulin during today’s visit to the factory “Complex Battle Systems“ rom Velika Plana.
“Complex Battle Systems“ as the minister of defence pointed out, certainly is one of the most modern factories, not only in Serbia, but in Europe as well.
- Our defence industry is extremely important to us and it shows that with great efforts it successfully thrives on the world marked as well. Serbian Armed Forces have as its supreme interest to have new weapons of course, but this weapon is the product of our intelligence, the product of our capital, the product of the knowledge and skills of these people – Minister Vulin stressed.
According to the words of the minister of defence, never before until that moment, from the time of SFRY until that day, there had never been so many new projects launched and so many new weapon projects fielded in the Serbian Armed Forces.
- The Government of the Republic of Serbia will continue pursuing the policy led by President of the Government Aleksandar Vučić, now the Supreme Commander, which means that we will continue investing in defence industry of Serbia, which further means that we will continue taking care of this highly significant segment of our defence industry – the minister of defence emphasised.
Speaking about the perspectives, Minister Vulin expressed his expectations that a new law would be passed by the end of the year that would enable investing in Serbian defence industry.
- This certainly does not mean selling Serbian defence industry, which will always remain in predominant major ownership of the state, meaning that 51 per cent will always belong to the state, while 49 per cent is the opportunity for someone to come, offer their money to us, provide new technology, new development. The state of Serbia will continue strengthening its industry, because an industry this strong is not solely an economy, it is also defence, it is security and safety of our citizens – Minister Vulin stated.
Minister Vulin, accompanied by the management of the company and Acting Assistant Minister for Material Resources Nenad Miloradović and Director of Yugoipmort SDPR Jugoslav Petković visited the plants “Pipe production”, “Machine Processing”, “Large Press”, “Laser” and “Assembly” within the factory “Complex Battle Systems”.
